When Coronavirus hit these shores
We looked towards the State
To lead the way, to keep us safe
But they did too little, much too late
From the playing fields of Eton
They came lying without shame
Though the faces changed, the song remained the same

We came out every Thursday night
to clap our hands and shout
For 15 minutes once a week
the government would let us out
And all the quiet heroes that rallied to the cause
Lived on broken promises and cheap applause
